Here you will find answers to some of the most common questions we get. If you do not find the answer that you are looking for here, please feel free to contact us
1. What is the minimum age for a piercing?
The youngest that we will pierce is 16 with out the need for parental consent. Some procedures do require you to be at least 18.
If you are under 16, we can still pierce you, but we will need a parent or legal guardian to sign for you. We will only do certain piercings on those under 16. These piercings include ear lobes, nostrils, certain ear cartilage, navel and lips. We will pierce earlobes on children 5 and older. We require a meet and greet appointment first, and then we will set up a time to pierce their ears.
2. Do I need identification to receive a piercing?
Yes. You are required to provide government issued photo i.d. Examples of this would be, driver’s licence, passport, military i.d., school i.d. (may need a matching birth certificate). Please feel free to call us ahead of time if you want to make sure that we can accept your i.d. Please note that in the case of piercing minors, we will require both a legal guardian’s identification and something for the minor.
3. Do I need to make an appoint? Or can I just walk-in?
We highly recommend making an appointment. We will accept walk-ins on a first come first served basis whenever it is possible. We can get fairly busy, and an hour long wait, or longer, is possible. If you make an appointment, you are guaranteed your time spot. You can either book in by contacting us, calling the studio at 519-763-7999 during regular studio hours, or by using our online booking app anytime of the day or night!
4. Does it hurt?
The vast majority of our clients say that it feels like a small pinch. No where near as bad as they were expecting. The discomfort lasts for only seconds.
5. How much do you charge for piercings?
We price our piercings a little differently than most other studios in the area. As we carry a variety of different styles of jewellery for different piercing locations (there is no one size fits all piece of jewellery, if you will) so what we have done is break it down to a piercing fee plus the cost of the jewellery. The piercing fee starts at 45$ for one piercing, 40$ each (80$ total) for 2 piercings, 3 or more piercings are 39$ each (117$ total). This is the piercing service fee only. The final cost of the piercing is based on the jewellery selected. For example, a nostril with a captive bead ring comes to a total of 60$ (45+15 for jewellery = 60$). We will discuss all jewellery options with you before we pierce you. If we do not have what you need in stock, we can always special order something in for you.
6. How many people can I bring with me?
We understand that getting a piercing can be a bonding experience, or an experience that you want to share with some friends. You can definitely bring a few people with you, however, the piercing room itself can only accommodate the piercer, the piercee, and 2 spectators. So if you bring 5 people with you, a few of them will be left in the waiting room.
7. What do you use as jewellery for initial piercings?
All of our jewellery meets the minimum standard set out by the Province of Ontario, and the APP (Association of Professional Piercers). The APP standards are a much more stringent set of standards. All jewellery must be made of implant grade stainless steel (there is no such thing as surgical steel), implant grade titanium, niobium, or 14k, white, yellow, or rose gold, and glass. All of our threaded jewellery is either internally threaded or threadless. Click here if you would like to learn more about initial jewellery. All of our jewellery is produced by North American manufactures, such as (but not limited to) NeoMetal Threadless Jewellery, Anatometal, LeRoi Fine Body Jewellery
8. Can I bring my young children with me?
Children 5 and over are permitted in the studio if they are here to get a piercing or are here for the meet and greet. Children under 5 are strictly prohibited.
